How to use an industrial polisher correctly

Industrial floor polishers are the best option to achieve from roughing to a mirror shine on hard surfaces such as concrete, there is no doubt about it. However, sometimes the performance obtained is not as expected due, among other things, to a lack of knowledge or misuse by the user.

Floor grinding and polishing machines are usually heavy and will require some time to operate. A mid-level industrial polisher runs at a maximum speed of about 1400 rpm or more, and reaches that speed within a few seconds of switching on. Our tendency is to deal with that force with equal or greater intensity, and sometimes that is why small accidents happen or the result is not as expected.

Here are some tips to help you know how to use a polisher correctly and not to get it wrong in the attempt:

1. Prepare the work surface

Before starting work, it is very important to know how to clean the surface and remove all debris from the floor to facilitate the use of the machine. It is best to use an industrial vacuum cleaner.

2. Place the polisher near a power outlet (start from a corner).

Now we have to place the polishing machine near a power outlet and in the farthest corner of the room, from where we will start working.

3. Wear work gloves

It is always much better, as they will allow you to have more control over the handles of the machine and a better grip.

4. Always hold the industrial polisher when turning it on.

This is better, as we can then control the machine in case it tries to move to one side or the other when starting up.

5. Do not use sudden movements to steer the machine.

6. Avoid using the polisher on uneven surfaces with poor planimetry.

In these cases, it will be important to prepare the surface previously, eliminating irregular layers.
